Tether Facilitates $45 Million Oil Deal

Tether's investment arm has become a participant in a unique deal, funding a $45 million USDT oil shipment, the company said in a press release.

The deal, which was concluded back in October, involved the delivery of 670,000 barrels of oil and was arranged by a major Middle Eastern oil company in collaboration with a leading commodity trader. The deal was brokered by Tether Trade Finance, a division of Tether Investments that operates independently of the stablecoin's reserves and uses its parent company's own capital.

While the deal is "the first of its kind," it opens up new horizons for lending and financial transactions across a variety of sectors, the company noted.

Tether's intention to enter the commodities markets was announced back in October. In June, Giancarlo Ardoino announced plans to allocate more than $1 billion to invest in startups from a variety of venture proposals.

43 Monkeys Escape Accelerates Meme Token Growth

On November 6, 43 macaques escaped from the Alpha Genesis research center in Yemassee, South Carolina, which unexpectedly led to a jump in the prices of monkey-related meme coins. Thus, on November 7, the Solana-based Monkey (MONKEY) token jumped by 49%, and Apes Go Bananas (AGB) demonstrated growth of 14% over the same period.

On the X social network, users put forward a variety of theories about the reasons for the escape. Some conspirators suggested that this was part of a government plan aimed at disrupting the inauguration of Donald Trump, while others recalled scenes from films, finding strange coincidences in them.

Meanwhile, the police urged residents to avoid encounters with escaped macaques and immediately report their location to 911.
